Parts of a Refrigerator

There are not many homes that do not feature a refrigerator in the kitchen. It has been a standard kitchen appliance for a lot of years now. A refrigerator will store food at the best temperature, in order to stop spoilage and limit the growth of bacteria. The concept of refrigeration works by distributing the heat from the interior of the unit to the exterior, using the principles of evaporation and condensation.

The standard components of a refrigerator are below. For questions or service call Factory Appliance Repair:

Compressor

The refrigerator compressor is a combination of a motor and pump, and it is responsible for circulation of refrigerant throughout the system.
The compressor is a very important part of a refrigerator. You should enlist a professional service if the compressor is broken.

Condenser

A condenser is attached on the rear exterior wall of the refrigerator and will help to release the heat collected from within the refrigerator out to the surrounding air.

Evaporator

A refrigerator evaporator is installed on the inside of a refrigerator where absorbs the warmth held within it, thereby lowering the temperature inside the refrigerator.

The moment the evaporator isn’t working, it is time to call a professional. Do not wait too long.

Expansion Device

Liquified coolant is transported within a capillary tube which works as an expansion device as it cools the gas inside, turning the gas into a liquid.

Thermostat

The refrigerator thermostat helps regulate the current temperature inside the refrigerator, beginning a new cooling cycle when it is necessary.

The thermostat inside of a refrigerator is prone to issues. Troubleshoot and hire a contractor in CITY for repair right when a problem happens.

How Does Refrigeration Work?

1. Right when the temperature in the interior of a refrigerator rises above the set point sensors signal the refrigerator compressor to begin, and the next cooling cycle starts. The unit attracts the cool liquid refrigerant, condenses and pressurizes the refrigerant, and raises the temperature, turning it into a gas form.

2. The compressor unit pushes the heated gas in the direction of the refrigerator condenser coils on the outside of the appliance, at which point it comes in contact with warmer temperature in the home and reverts back to a liquified state.

3. The cooled liquified gas then continues on its journey to the refrigerator evaporator, traveling through the many coils within the appliance and freezer section.

4. The refrigerant absorbs the hot air from the interior of the refrigerator, thereby cooling the temperature back to the correct set point.

5. The liquid then evaporates, and will turn back to a gas state, and then returns to the compressor in order to continue the cooling cycle.

Refrigeration technology is often found in several applications and household appliances, including heat pumps, AC units, refrigerators and residential freezers. By extracting heat from a single place and then relocating it to a different one the cycle of refrigeration will help cooling your house, creates a safe storage space for perishable food, and also helps with the manufacturing and storage of a number of different products and goods.
